Creating Memories Since 2021

We look forward to welcoming you to Anchor's Rest.

Our garden is finished. The irrigation and boma is completed. We're excited to see it all come together!

Our latest renovations includes roof trusses painted white, lights lowered, boundary walls heightened and garden transformation.

It all started in July 2021. Totally unplanned, but I realized it has huge potential as a guest house with 3 individual units.

Schaapeiland Hiking Trail

The Schaapeiland Hiking Trail skirts the edge of the village of Yzerfontein. Approximately 2km long, it starts from the Main Beach and runs in a southerly direction, towards the harbour. It is an easy walk for most people.

Take a walk through the nursery that grows and sells indigenous flora, locally grown herbs and vegetables. Visit the Aviary, which is large enough for the resident Macaws, Cockatoos, African Grey’s and other large parrots.

Dassen Island is South Africa’s second largest Island after Robben Island and is about 10km west of Yzerfontein in the Atlantic Ocean and is home to the African penguin.
